RVU, owner of Confused.com, Uswitch, Tempcover and Money.co.uk, is pleased to announce that Steve Dukes has been appointed CEO of Confused.com, succeeding Louise O'Shea.

RVU, owners of Uswitch, Confused.com and Money.co.uk, is bolstering its solutions for motor insurance customers by agreeing to acquire Tempcover. 

The Women's Employee Resource Group (ERG) at RVU hosted a global event which celebrated this years theme of Breaking The Bias. The event saw a host of panel discussions, prizes and awards and guest speaker Cathy O'Dowd, a record breaking mountaineer and motivational speaker.

CodeF is an annual week-long initiative run by RVU Pay It Forward and SEO London. It’s designed for female students who are interested in starting a career in tech, but have had very little exposure to the topic before.

RVU, owners of home services switching service Uswitch and financial  comparison site Money.co.uk, is broadening its comparison portfolio by agreeing to acquire  Penguin Portals from Admiral Group plc. 

Penguin Portals is a global network of insurance-focused comparison platforms that include  Confused.com in the UK as well as Rastreator.com and LeLynx.fr, market leaders in car insurance comparison in Spain and France respectively. The network of over 600 employees  also includes a start-up in Mexico and a development centre in India.

Last week we partnered with The Mix charity (who help young people deal with a multitude of challenges) to run a company-wide 'hackday' to come up with creative ideas to help promote 'social good'.

The winning team came up with InstaScan, a tool which analyses Instagram influencers and measures the impact their photos may have on young people's body confidence. By using image recognition, machine learning and sentiment analysis, Instascan rates profiles based on how viewing these posts might affect mental health. This was another great initiative from our RVU Pay it Forward team and our thanks to everyone who got involved! 

Black History Month is an opportunity for us to celebrate with our colleagues, to increase our own knowledge while forming a shared understanding and awareness of black history in the UK. Throughout the month we've been organising and enjoying a whole variety events on everything from food and culture, to music, art and film.

We're very proud of our Data & Analytics team who won the Kaggle Hackathon Challenge yesterday, using Google Machine Learning to build a retail personalisation model. Congrats to all involved!

We've been thrilled to be working with SEO London to deliver our CodeF Technology Week training course. It was an awesome effort by all involved. So great to see all of the websites that have been produced after just one week!

This year we brought our annual summer bash online. RVU Connect was an exciting day, giving us the chance to get together with our colleagues. Shout out to our Events team for their tireless work in making it possible. And to Connect 4 champion Minty. She ruthlessly dispatched our CEO, Tariq Syed in one of the highlights of RVU Connect!

Excited for our RVU Data & Analytics team to present their work tomorrow at the London DBT Meetup! We’ll be sharing the results of our first completely remote Hack Day, then discussing how community members are leveraging DBT to solve their data problems.
